Davy Jones History
This song was one of the first original songs that the Dogges wrote. However it went through many changes before it became what it is today. It started as a dirge similar to the song sung in the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean “At World’s End.”
However some fans suggested that it could be a pretty song with harmonies, thus it was changed to be what it is now.
Davy Jones Lyrics
Dark the night, the endless stare
‘Ere in sight dead calm beware
Sat so still, the sails not full
Each man’s will the oars did pull
CHORUS:
Ho heave ho! Ho heave to!
Davy Jones is after you!
Ho heave ho! Ho heave to!
Rattle your chains or join his crew!
Aside the ship the siren’s song
They call to us their simple throng
Do not attend to their call
Their moan will bring you o’er the hull
CHORUS
Davy Jones, he sent them all,
Midnight bones we heard the call
Long the night, the day did break
Survived we few to tell the tale
CHORUS
Left dead calm, the sails are full
Homeward bound, the nightmare through
Davy Jones, We’re watching you
So sing your songs, farewell to you
CHORUS
